Irises are the perfect subject for artist Sara Jacobs Chambers! The elegance and colors of these wonderful flowers provide endless enjoyment for drawing and painting, both from life and from photographs. Sara is accomplished at interpreting irises in all mediums. Join the artist at the Hondo Iris Farm link in Hondo , NM, to draw and paint on-site in this glorious iris garden in full-bloom.
Chambers has a passion for color and line, transforming ordinary into extraordinary and works in all media, including oil, pastels and watercolor, creating images both real and imaginary.
In this exciting one-day class, we will travel* to the Hondo Iris Farm, Hondo, NM, to spend the day exploring irises in all their variety.
The first hour and a half will be spent with Sara demonstrating her approach to painting irises on-location. We will break for lunch in the beautiful garden (pack your lunch). Beverages will be provided.
In the afternoon, class members will draw and/or paint in the medium of their choice, with Sara offering assistance and tips.
Some painting materials can be available for a small fee (probably $5). Bring what you have and share the fun!
